LEAP #3: Propaganda in Cosmetics Advertising

Below is my third LEAP Project, which I worked on with Kelly Falco. Together, we compared and contrasted two pieces of cosmetics advertisements: a Rihanna Fenty Beauty video from 2017, and a Helena Rubenstein, Inc print ad from 1968. Though both differ in terms of their definitions of beauty, the ads share similar methods to persuade, such as their use of testimonials, appeals to "plain folks," and exaggeration.
